Opal Patterns
It is never an easy job to identify the patterns of opals as they are dynamic queens.
Flagstone pattern can confuse people as it will look different from one opal to the next. This happens because of the size of the flakes of colour; they may be large or small and fit together like puzzle pieces or cobblestone streets—the flakes of the pattern set beside each other in an uneven jigsaw of colour.
You can find Patterns can fall on one side or section of a stone with a mixture of one or more different patterns too. They can mix in with each other, weaving a beautiful and unique artwork within the gem.
Pattern can be mosaic, pinfire, flame and peacock.
